BusinessParcel | Delivery to businesses and workplaces. |
Courier delivery | Delivery with a courier vehicle directly from A to B. |
Depot | At GLS Denmark, we call our nine sorting terminals depots. |
DepositService | Flexible delivery to home and business addresses where the recipient doesn't need to be present for the parcel to be delivered. Instead, the parcel is left at the agreed-upon address. |
Dispatcher | Our dispatchers coordinate transportation in our express and courier department. |
EuroBusinessParcel | Our standard product for delivering packages anywhere in Europe. |
Express | GLS Express is the business that handles all our express and courier shipments. |
FlexDeliveryService | GLS delivers the parcel to the recipient's home address. The recipient is informed of a delivery time and date by GLS before delivery. If the time or date is not suitable, the recipient can redirect the parcel during delivery. |
GDP | GDP is a set of guidelines for the correct distribution of medicines and stands for "Good Distribution Practice." |
GlobalBusinessParcel | Our delivery solution for parcels and documents worldwide. |
Hub | Depots that serve as hubs between our other depots and countries. |
Non-conform | Parcels that are not compliant with our sorting system and handling method, requiring manual handling. |
Incoterms | "Incoterms" stands for "International Commercial Terms" and is a set of standardized rules that help businesses and traders worldwide understand and communicate important aspects of international trade. |
Interline | Interline is one of two options when you want to print GLS labels. |
Label | A label is attached to all packages sent with GLS and contains important information about the sender and recipient. |
Linehaul | GLS' trucks that transport packages between our national and international depots. |
LU | Abbreviation for load units. A load unit is, for example, a trailer. |
ParcelShop | All GLS' more than 1,750 pickup points are called PakkeShops. We have nine of our own PakkeShops located in Greater Copenhagen, while the rest are shop-in-shop. |
Parcel | A department in GLS Denmark that handles our regular package distribution from our private and business customers. |
Pick&ReturnService | GLS picks up packages at a business address and returns them to you as a customer. |
Pick&ShipService | GLS picks up packages at a business address of your choice and delivers them to the desired business recipient. |
POD | Proof of delivery is the recipient's receipt that the package has been delivered. |
PrivateDelivery | Home delivery for private individuals. |
ShopFinder | ShopFinder is a solution that finds a GLS PakkeShop and can be integrated into your webshop. |
ShopDelivery | Private delivery to our more than 1,750 Danish PakkeShops. |
ShopReturnService | Goods delivered with GLS can be returned via a GLS PakkeShop. GLS then picks up the package and returns it to you as the sender. |
Track & Trace | Track & Trace is a solution that tells you the latest status of your package and its location. |
YourGLS | YourGLS is your customer platform where you, as a GLS customer, can find all the essential statistics about your shipments. |
